Illume Interiors ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through illumeinteriors.com, why we collect it, and the choices and rights you have — in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

1. Who We Are

Illume Interiors is an interior design studio based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. For the purposes of this policy, we are the "Data Fiduciary" for any personal data collected through this website.

2. What We Collect

We collect personal data in two ways:

  • Information you give us directly — when you fill in our contact form or write to us via WhatsApp, phone, or email, we receive your name, phone number, email address, and whatever project details or messages you choose to share.
  • Information collected automatically — we use Google Analytics, which sets cookies (such as _ga, _gid, _gat) to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, time spent, general location, device and browser type). This data is aggregated and not used to personally identify you by name.

We do not collect payment information — this website does not process online payments.

3. Why We Collect It

  • To respond to your enquiry and discuss your interior design project.
  • To reach you by phone, email, or WhatsApp about a consultation you've requested.
  • To understand how people use our website so we can improve it.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making, profiling, or advertising.

4. How Your Consent Works

When you submit the contact form, you consent to us using the information you provide to respond to you. When you first visit the site, a cookie banner asks for your consent before analytics cookies are set — you can accept or decline, and you can change your mind at any time (see Section 7).

5. Where Your Data Goes

  • Contact form submissions are sent directly to our email inbox (design.illumeinteriors@gmail.com). We do not store submissions in a separate database or CRM.
  • Analytics data is processed by Google Analytics (Google LLC), which may process data on servers outside India. Google's own privacy practices govern that processing — see Google's Privacy Policy.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.

6. How Long We Keep It

Enquiry emails are kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you and, where a project goes ahead, for the duration of that working relationship plus a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default retention settings.

7. Your Rights Under the DPDP Act

As a data principal, you have the right to:

  • Access — ask us what personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction & erasure — ask us to correct inaccurate data or delete it.
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time, or ask us to stop using your enquiry details.
  • Grievance redressal — raise a complaint if you feel your data has been mishandled.
  • Nominate — nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.

8. Grievance Officer

If you have concerns about how your data has been handled, you can contact our Grievance Officer at design.illumeinteriors@gmail.com. If unresolved, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India as provided under the DPDP Act.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal data we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top will always show the latest revision.
